The great succes of the reform of youth football

Revolution is here in youth football with Festifoot, where our U6 play 2 on 2 in mixed teams. The ACFF has two main goals with Festifoot: youngsters touching the ball more often and a bigger social impact for football.

The VFV also reformed the youth competitions in 2014: the youngest will play in new game forms. The clubs are guided with demonstration trainings and technical education. Besides this reform, clubs have organized Winterfutsal, so that young players can still enjoy the game during winter break.

NSC: Propositions of Amendments to the Regulation for the reform of youth competitions

On Monday, December 16, 2013, the National Study Commission gathered to discuss concrete propositions of changes to the regulation regarding the reform of youth competitions. This involves not only how the Belgian youth will play during upcoming seasons, but also the evaluation of the quality of these young players in our clubs. It appeared during this meeting that the Dutch-speaking provinces was already a few steps ahead in this area compared to French-speaking provinces, where other conversations will still take place in the upcoming weeks and months. For the sake of offering clarity to the clubs, the propositions have already been approved for applying in the Flemish provinces.

Startup online community “The Twelfth Man”

In line with the reformation of youth competitions, we thought it was important to gain information and advice from the club employees, as these are the people who work on grassroots football every day. Therefore, we have started an online community, the twelfth man, whose goal is to facilitate the communication between the different stakeholders.
