AFAS Stadion, the renovated stadium of Mechelen

KV Mechelen presented on May 11, 2015, the new name of its renovated stadium: the AFAS Stadion. 'Malinwa' began this summer the first phase of renovation of the stadium. In August, the first new permanent stand (with standing and sitting zones) will be erected.

UPDATE 13/08/15: The first seats have been installed in the new stand.

The Albertpark of KV Oostende will be entitled to a full renovation

After the season 2015-2016, KV Oostende's stadium will be thoroughly renovated. The whole stadium will be completed by the end of 2017. The first phase will start with the reconstruction of the main stand. This new stand will now have 3.700 seats.

For the RBFA, the renovation of our football clubs' stadiums is a big priority. Zulte Waregem and Lokeren renovated their stadium in 2014 and the city of Brussels was nominated as guest city for the European Championship 2020. Therefor the city will build a new national stadium.

Zulte-Waregem stadium upgrade: new stand ready for use

A whole new stand has been constructed behind one of the two goals, in Zulte-Waregem’s ‘Regenboogstadion’. The new stand has a seating capacity for 2.200 Zulte-Waregem fans, as well as 944 visiting supporters. The total capacity of the stadium is now 11.000. The new stand was taken into use on 28 November, on the occasion of Zulte Waregem’s home game against KAA Gent in the Jupiler Pro League.

Another stand will be built behind the second goal next year.

Brussels, host city of EURO 2020

20 years after Euro 2000, Brussels will again have the pleasure of welcoming the European Football Championship, to be held in 2020 in 13 European cities.

The solid Belgian candidacy, for which the technical commission of UEFA had already stressed how impressed she was by the Belgian FA, was selected today with 12 more for the organization of Euro 2020. Brussels has submitted a quality report, particularly in terms of public transport, training centers, public guarantees, airport capacity, impressive tourism offers, its experience in organizing big events and hotel accommodations.

Sporting Lokeren makes ​​use of its new football stand

The Daknamstadion, Lokeren's town stadium, features again four stands. A new platform was built so that the stadium meets the standards required to participate in European competitions.

With the commissioning of the new platform, the stadium's capacity now reaches 12,000 spectators.

Application EURO 2020: a new national stadium

In close collaboration with the City of Brussels and the Brussels-Capital Region, the RBFA has submitted its application to UEFA in order for Brussels to become one of the host cities of the European Football Championship in 2020

The Belgian FA and Brussels want four matches including the opening match to be played in Belgium, in a brand new national stadium at the current parking lot C of the Heysel.

8 millions euro Flemish subsidies for Belgian stadiums

Seven footballclubs from first division will receive 8 million euro subsidies from the Flemish Government for the construction or renovation of their stadium.

KAA Gent and Club Brugge each receive 2.5 million euro.
Zulte Waregem and KV Mechelen will receive € 750,000 each for the renewal of their current stadium. OH Leuven (€ 673 800), Ostend (630 500) and KRC Genk (€ 195,700) will also receive a grant to work on the infrastructure of their stadium.

Zulte-Waregem receives its building permits

The construction of Zulte-Waregem's stadium has made a step forward. The city of Waregem has granted a building permit for the renovation of the Regenboogstadion. The construction will begin right after the end of this season.

The city of Waregem and SV Zulte Waregem introduce their masterplan for the Regenboog stadium

SV Zulte Waregem and the city of Waregem join forces rebuilding of the Regenboog stadium. Construction starts immediately after season 2013-2014. Under denomination of the stadium agency, the RBFA is also implicated in the project. By granting a one-off subsidy for this multifunctional stadium project, the Flemish Government stresses out the importance of the improvement of the Flemish stadiums.

Stadium Infrastructure Agency

The Stadium Infrastructure Agency (SIA) is involved in the strategic goals of the Belgian FA with the mission to create (or renovate significantly) 5 new stadiums for 2020.
The SIA simplifies the realisation of  stadium projects in order to make our stadiums more comfortable, safer and more enjoyable. The agency is therefore working with stakeholders of the stadium industry: the Jupiler Pro League, the government (football cell), the UEFA (safety & security department) and the ESSMA (European Stadium & Safety Management Association). The agency also shares his knowledge and experience, motivates clubs & authorities and provides support with an (inter)national network.

Ghelamco Arena: KAA Gent inaugurates its new stadium

The Ghelamco Arena has officially been opened on July 17th, 2013. Ghent's new stadium was sold out for the gala match against Stuttgart (Germany).
